Kentucky Derby 2017 live Stream Online : The Kentucky Derby  is a horse race held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, USA on the first Saturday in May capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. The race is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds at a distance of one and a quarter miles (2 km) at Churchill Downs. Colts and geldings carry 126 pounds (57 kilograms) and fillies 121 pounds (55 kilograms).

Saturday will kick off the best stretch of events in the horse racing calendar with the 143rd Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

The day will be filled with some of the biggest races of the year, but there’s none bigger than the $2 million Kentucky Derby, a 1-1/4 mile run that could take place on a less-than-ideal track due to the weather. Either way, the day’s events will be covered by NBCSN on television beginning at 12 p.m. ET.

The 143rd Run for the Roses is just about here. All of the horses have made it to Louisville and are ready to run in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday where forecasts look to give us a wet and sloppy track.

As the races gets closer, the odds have changed a bit from the initial posting with Always Dreaming now the favorite to win on Saturday after Classic Empire opened as the favorite. But even as the odds change, many of the gambling experts believe this is a wide open race where up to seven different horses have a chance to win it all.

Horses and jockeys are expected to hit the starting post at Churchill Downs at 6:34 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Here’s a look at the complete race field with the latest odds from KentuckyDerby.com.

CBS Sports will also be providing live updates from the races at Churchill Downs beginning at 12 p.m. ET. Check back for more coverage.

Coverage will switch to the flagship NBC network at 2:30 p.m., and that coverage will run through the actual Derby, which carries a post time of 6:46 p.m. Those wanting to watch online have many options via NBC Sports Live, which is available on all modern web browsers, cell phones, and other connected devices.

As far as the other races on the day go, there are some big ones. The $500,000 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic, a Grade 1 stakes race, is the biggest of the bunch. The race is for four-year-olds and up.

Then there’s the Grade 2 stakes Churchill Distaff Turf Mile, worth $300,000. The Grade 2 stakes Churchill Downs and American Turf races will also be held on the day.

As far as the Kentucky Derby goes, it’s a crowded and talented field. Classic Empire has been consistently installed as the favorite, but McCraken and Irish War Cry are two very talented horses that have what it takes to make the field a whole lot more interesting.

Classic Empire drew the 14th post, right next to McCraken at the 15th. Classic Empire will be jockeyed by Julien Leparoux and is trained by Mark Casse. McCraken is jockeyed by Brian Hernandez Jr. and is trained by Ian Wilkes.

Kentucky Derby 2017 : The Kentucky Derby  is a horse race held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, USA on the first Saturday in May capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. The race is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds at a distance of one and a quarter miles (2 km) at Churchill Downs. Colts and geldings carry 126 pounds (57 kilograms) and fillies 121 pounds (55 kilograms).

The race is known in the United States as “The Most Exciting Two Minutes In Sports” or “The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports” for its approximate duration, and is also called “The Run for the Roses” for the blanket of roses draped over the winner. It is the first leg of the American Triple Crown and is followed by the Preakness Stakes, then the Belmont Stakes. Unlike the Preakness and Belmont Stakes, which took hiatuses in 1891–1893 and 1911–1912, respectively, the Kentucky Derby has been run every consecutive year since 1875. A horse must win all three races to win the Triple Crown. In the 2015 listing of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA), the Kentucky Derby tied with the Whitney Handicap as the top Grade 1 race in the United States outside of the Breeders’ Cup races.

The attendance at the Kentucky Derby ranks first in North America and usually surpasses the attendance of all other stakes races including the Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes, and the Breeders’ Cup.[4]

Kentucky Derby 2017 will be the 143rd running,  and is set for Saturday, May 6, 2017 with a $2 million guaranteed purse.
