- Aim for a brightness range of 1000-2000 LUX at 12 inches (30 cm).
- Look for a lamp with a dimmer switch to alleviate eye strain.
- Choose lighting with an easily adjustable fixture to prevent glare.
- Make sure the location and operation of fixture controls is easily accessible.
- There should be a coverage diameter of at least 12 inches (30 cm) at distance of 12 inches (30 cm).
- Look for sturdy construction for safety and durability.
