Hughes Shipped More Than Two Million Broadband Satellite Terminals in Q3
Hughes Network Systems (HUGHES), a leading broadband satellite networks and services company has announced the completion of shipping 2.1 million satellite terminals as of the third quarter of 2009. Hughes manufactured and delivered its first VSAT terminal network to Wal-Mart during the mid-80s.
The compact VSAT terminals are connected with each other using geostationary satellites. The VSAT networks provide flexible connectivity without location barrier even across the continents. The terminals can handle transmission of voice, video and multimedia data consistently and speedily.
Currently the Hughes satellite networks and HughesNet broadband IP services are used by important corporate businesses, hospitality industry, Oil and Gas exploring companies, automobile companies, banking sector and companies engaged in entertainment and public media. The products and services are also availed by most of the government organizations and global companies.
