Loral Shares Are Very Undervalued.
Shares in satellite launch company Loral Space & Communications (LORL.O) seem hugely undervalued when a little-known asset is taken into account, according to a Barron’s report.
Barron’s Nov 23 edition informed that by some investors numbers Loral’s “obscured asset” is its 64 percent stake in Telesat, a satellite provider owned by a Canadian pension fund that absorbed Loral’s former satellite-services unit.
Barron’s which said that Loral’s own space systems operation is worth an additional $10 and the stake could be worth more than $40 for each Loral share held.
This would suggest a valuation that is well above Loral’s Friday close at $29.04 on Nasdaq.
