Yahsat Signs Agreement With A Prominent European Service Partner For “YahClick” Satellite Broadband Service.

Star Satellite Communications Company PrJsc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) inked an agreement with IEC Telecom, an established provider of satellite-based internet services. As part of the service agreement, IEC Telecom will roll out “YahClick” – YahsatYahsat’s revolutionary satellite broadband service – within the YahClick foot print which covers 24 countries in Africa, Middle East and South West Asia. The France-based IEC Telecom will provide YahClick service to enterprise customers such as NGOs, oil and gas and other multinational companies.

Currently with most enterprise customers moving to IP (internet protocol) based networks; YahClick will offer a possibility of creating virtual private networks through satellite connections from locations where reliable internet access is not available.

YahClick will offer broadband via satellite, to deliver reliable, high-speed internet connectivity for home users and businesses in areas with limited or no internet access, at costs comparable to terrestrial services. This will be provided by Y1B, YahsatYahsat’s second satellite which will be launched in the second half of 2011.

“In line with our strategy to partner with the best service providers we have signed IEC Telecom as a partner of choice. IEC are well established to cater to high profile enterprise customers, with their capabilities and experience, we are confident in the successful rollout of YahClick service, which will be a milestone that will help enterprises re-write their future and pave their way towards unlimited possibilities.” informed Jassem Al Zaabi, CEO of YahsatYahsat.

“This exceptional partnership between YahsatYahsat and IEC Telecom Group is all about putting together the maximum strength to offer high-speed Internet access via YahClick Services to most populated African, Middle East and South West Asian countries. There are many people and enterprises not having the equal chances in terms of connecting instantly to the World. Together we want to change this and the YahClick service is the most advanced and promising answer to this Paradigm shift” said Erwan Emilian, IEC Telecom Group CEO.

Y1B will be the first satellite in the region to offer internet connectivity through the latest technology, the Ka-band multi-spot beams, with reusable frequencies to maximize spectrum efficiency. The multi spot-beam technology means greater efficiency on the ground, which enables use of a smaller antenna size with a low power amplifier.

Due to the highly flexible system design, YahsatYahsat’s partners who provide the YahClick service will bundle hardware and software services; offering packages tailor-made for specific markets and user segments, from basic internet access for a home user to high speed service plans for the corporate user.

  • Philip: I have a hughesnet dish, modem, and LNB that I use to download internet service from OIFNET Inc. I want to use my existing equipment to subscribe to your service. The model is a HN7005. The LNB has a few things written on it (NJR2784HH, REV:B). Will this equipment work with your service? I prefer contact by email. I need an answer very quickly because the equipment will be sold soon (in the next 2 days) if we can’t get a better deal.
