Wavestream Wins Military Ka-band Amplifier Order from General Dynamics

Wavestream Corp. received orders totaling more than $50 million from General Dynamics for products from Wavestream’s family of Ka-band SSPAs for the U.S. Army’s new satellite transportable terminals, Wavestream announced June 26.
The product being delivered to General Dynamics is a 50-Watt Ka-band SSPA with integrated BUC, which is part of a family of Ka-band products by Wavestream that includes 12-Watt and 25-Watt models. To date, Wavestream has delivered over 600 Ka-band SSPAs to General Dynamics.
“We are driving Ka product line capacity to 100-plus units per month to accommodate the increased demand. … These Ka-band systems will provide critical real-time bandwidth to our soldiers in hazardous and extreme conditions in the field,” Wavestream President and CEO Cliff Cooke said in a statement.

David: We are currently stationed at Camp Bastion (leatherneck) in Afghanistan. I see that you provide serive there. How does my company access this serivice for personel internet for our soldiers? What do you we need to do and how much would it be?
