Telekomp will Launch of Satellite Global Service



Fixed Net segment of Telecomp Austria Group, will launch a global service package by its partner Telesat’s operated Telstar N11 satellite with a mission critical focus on the African continent.

 

Head of Wholesale at Telekom Austria, Josef Trimmel said:

“Our global service bundle based on the state-of-the-art ‘Telstar 11N’ satellite will considerably contribute to strengthening Telekom Austria’s  role as an internet connectivity provider especially for the African region”

The Fixed Net segment will provide Public Switched Telephone Network access, VoIP, wired broadband and Wi-B services, IT solutions, leased lines, electronic payment, and safety and security systems.

 

The offering to ISP’s will include TA Ag’s wireless solutions available via its satellite center in Aflenz and its international wired broadband infrastructure called JetStream. It is targeting underserved regions in Africa, and is strategically gearing up for live global audio and video streams of the World Cup Football Championship 2010 in South Africa.

 

Telstar N11 satellite is located 37.5 degrees West in Geo stationary orbit, which is over the Equator at an altitude of 22,236 miles above sea level, and utilizes 39 high powered Ku-band transponders to support a wide range of video, broadband and data applications in North America, Europe and Africa and across the Atlantic Ocean.
