TS2 Satellite Technologies network in Iraq and Afghanistan has over 15 thousand military users of local broadband satellite connections.
TS2 specializes in providing global satellite communication services in areas with poor telecommunications infrastructure. Its basic transmission medium is a two-way transfer of data, which provides not only the Internet access and transfer of information within the network but also voice communications. This type of services is very often used by defense industries, Special Forces and Army.

“We were among the first telecommunications providers in the satellite technology in the territory of Iraq and Afghanistan and as such we have enjoyed a successful cooperation with the US Army for several years now” – says Marcin Frackiewicz, CEO of the TS2 Satellite Technologies.
TS2 Satellite Technologies offer two-way high-speed internet access with no phone lines, no cable, no dial-up modem. It’s always on, available virtually anywhere, and affordable. The laptop, or WLAN network, can receive internet signal through a special satellite VSAT modem which is usually set up in a building or tent when deployed.
To the soldiers stationed in the war-torn countries, one VSAT access point provides broadband access to the internet; telephone connections including voice over internet protocol (VoIP), IP phone and video-conference connections. In addition, soldiers can also transfer data to many other users simultaneously and share connections with others stationed in the same base.
The Internet access has resulted in major morale improvements. Troops no longer feel cut off from home. This is especially important for the many who are married, and have young children. Not all the Internet connectivity is just for staying in touch with the folks back home. The troops use the Internet a lot for professional tasks, and not all of them are official business. Some troops blog, and many other stay in touch with military friends and associates in other parts of the world. The Internet has made possible many online communities composed of military professionals.
The communication among the bases is possible thanks to the simultaneous lease of bands on the Intelsat 10-02 and Intelsat 901 satellites whose coverage enables configuration of connections between any place in Europe, Middle East and Southwest Asia.
TS2 provides in the Middle East & North African region following services: two way internet broadband access, Thuraya and Iridium satellite phones, VSAT Private Network, broadcasting services, SCPC/SCPC, SCPC/DVB, MESH services, STAR/DAMA, VSAT Mini Hub Solution, VNO and many more.

We need internet within the next month (or sooner). It
needs to be for at least 15 people. There will be downloading, video
messaging, and chating; so dedicated speeds would be nice. This is for the
soldiers inside our compound only. Fast internet would be nice, but we
would like to keep it under a hundred dollars a month per soldier. There
also needs to the ability to raise the amount of people on the internet if
nessecary. Please send me what you have to offer as soon as possible. Thank
you

We are currently using Bentley Walker’s Satellite
System for internet in our hangar. We are looking to changing providers due
to the poor service we are getting from them. Our internet is not
consistant and Bentley Walker’s customer service is non existent. We
already have all the VSAT equipment for service so we would not need to
purchase equipment from you. We would just need your monthly service. Oh
and we currently have about max 40 users on our system. If you can please
send me a quote on a monthly plan that would meet our requirements and we
only need internet usage no VoIP or Video conferencing.

We plan on running a Idirect system(4096 down 768
up) for 50 people (25 people will be using it at any given time) and wanted
to know if this was the best option for us, or if there is a different
system you offer that is a better option for our needs.
-Does the Idirect system have cat5 network outputs? and how many?
-Do you offer cat 5 networking cable/connecter/ tools and networking
switches?
-Do you ship COB Basra Apo AE 09374 or to other bases in the basra area?
-It appears we can pay via paypal to your company, is this correct? Is
there an additional fee for paying that way?
-Any other reccomandations?
July 8th, 2009 at 3:16 pm
The platoon uses a USB device
(Edge Modem). From china mobile through acww. It costs $130 for the
equipment then $20 a MOnth after that. But you only get about a 4kb-11kb
recv rate. Most the time it doesnt work at all. We need an alternative via satellite.
July 8th, 2009 at 3:16 pm
I am looking at several service options. I am looking
at supporting a company of approximately 100 troops. We will be using VoIP

I recently arrived at FOB Finley-Shields. My 6 Man team is considering options for internet service. It will be primarily for e-mail and VOIP for personal use. However, as always we will do some work from our rooms also. We just do not wish to wait in
line at the MWR.
We have access to some equipment, but I
don’t know any information about this equipment yet. Please let me know
what systems work best and I’ll see if we can find hardware for it.

This is an inquiry into your satellite internet
systems. I am with a US army unit deploying to Afghanistan to a new base
with limited internet access and I am investigating different options to
supply about 25 individuals with internet access. I am wondering what
systems you have to offer us and for how much. Beyond the modem what other
hardware would we need to purchase to get the 25 people hooked up? A
switch or public access device for a WLAN? Or does your hardware include
some of these functions? As much detail as possible would be appreciated.
July 8th, 2009 at 3:41 pm
I would like to know how much your internet plans are
monthly. Once I get into Iraq and place an order how long until my service

Just let you know that on FOBs we can provide Wireless as well. And control bandwidth per user so one person doesn’t consume all the bandwidth by downloading huge files.
Also our Technology is Based on SCPC/SCPC (Single Channel per Carrier) on both Uplink/Downlink and it’s way more reliable and faster than TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access). For pricing don’t be scared. We have very flexable prices in accordance to the soldiers packets!:)
Cheer,
